Melody Simmons has been a reporter in Baltimore since late 1979. She worked on the metro desks for The Evening Sun and The Sun for two decades and has been a freelance journalist for several news outlets including WYPR-FM, The New York Times, Washington Post, People magazine, the Catholic Review and Baltimore magazine. She has also worked as a staff writer at The Daily Record and currently covers real estate and economic development for the Baltimore Business Journal.
