Jen Ellingsworth’s career began in 1989 at her hometown newspaper, The Milford Chronicle, where she was sports editor, photographer and darkroom tech.
In 1996, she joined the Cape Gazette staff as arts and entertainment editor, and grew into her current position as associate editor. She edits and packages stories and photos for the Cape Gazette, Beach Paper and a wide variety of special sections. Jen designs Cape Gazette’s front pages, as well as a variety of news and feature pages, and nearly all Cape Gazette’s special publications. Cape Gazette’s award-winning special publications include Spring and Fall Home & Garden booklets, ’Tis the Season holiday guide, Spring and Fall Festivals booklets and the annual Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival program, among others.
Her work has been recognized in many awards from the Maryland-Delaware-D.C. Press Association, including several Best in Show honors. She is a member of the Society for News Design and the Society of Professional Journalists.
